Wine Country Modern Retreat

Our clients asked for a single level, modern retreat for their secluded hilltop site in Healdsburg, CA. They weren't living in California when we started, so we assembled the entire project team of consultants, interior designer, and construction manager on their behalf. The result is a stunning, elegant home with several distinct outdoor spaces connected to the prominent interior rooms. The hilltop setting allows for very dynamic light, wind, and sun conditions during the day, so our design takes advantage of those changing conditions with a large terrace at the front of the home and a private courtyard at its center. We used lighting and natural materials in the interior to keep the home feeling warm and inviting. The clients appreciate the raw, elemental exterior materials of steel, flame-cured concrete, and stucco that give it a distinct look.
